Should we british stand up more to our government?

Namely the current sham of a government that is so detached from the needs of the majority. Making us suffer directly for the mistakes of a few banks, who should be paying off the defecit. We should have taken a leaf out of icelands book and tore up the debts. Should more people take to the streets and parliament each time a law or bill we disagree with comes into power. I think the people need to take this country back.
