Anyone know if its possible to delete msgs that have already been sent through facebook?

i sent someone a mgs and it was a bit cheesey i guess lol...anyways i would like to rework it and send it again is it even possible to delete it? i went into my sent msgs and removed it from thread or something but im not sure if that actually deletes it from there end as well...thanks to anyone who can help.
